The Go team has officially launched the 2025 Go Developer Survey, an annual opportunity for developers around the world to share their experiences with the language. This feedback directly influences the roadmap, priorities, and improvements for Go in the coming year.
Survey Overview
The survey is open from now through September 30, 2025. It is designed to be accessible and respects your time—most respondents complete it in 10 to 20 minutes. Every question is optional, so you can skip any that don’t apply to you.

What’s New This Year
For the first time, the Go team will release a raw dataset of survey responses in addition to the aggregated results. This allows the entire community to perform their own analyses and gain deeper insights into the state of Go development. Following the same opt-in model used for Go Telemetry, the survey will ask for your explicit permission before including your answers in the shared dataset. If you choose not to grant permission, your responses will remain confidential and not be included in the public data.
Your Feedback Shapes Go
The annual survey is one of the most important tools the Go team uses to understand the diverse needs of developers worldwide. From identifying pain points in the toolchain to prioritizing new language features, every response helps the team brainstorm, plan, and allocate resources effectively. Past surveys have directly influenced changes to dependency management, error handling, concurrency patterns, and the developer experience as a whole.
Participating in the Survey
You can take the survey via the official link provided on the Go blog. The team encourages you to share the survey with colleagues, friends, and online communities—the more voices heard, the better the understanding of the global Go ecosystem.
- Open until: September 30, 2025
- Time needed: 10–20 minutes
- All questions optional
- Permission required for raw data sharing
What Happens After the Survey Closes
The aggregated results will be published on the Go Blog in early November 2025. Alongside the summary, the raw dataset (with permission only) will be made available, enabling community researchers and advocates to explore the data independently.
Thank you for helping make Go better for everyone. Your voice matters—take a few minutes to complete the survey and help shape the future of the language.
