The final episode of The Boys aired on May 20, but the franchise is far from over. Amazon has officially greenlit Vought Rising, a prequel series exploring the origins of Vought International.
Executive producer Paul Grellong, who also wrote for The Boys, is spearheading the project. The announcement came in 2024, with both Gen V season 2 and The Boys season 5 laying groundwork by introducing characters destined for the new show.

Vought Rising will delve into the early days of the sinister corporation, focusing on the creation of Compound V and the birth of the first superheroes. Plot details remain under wraps, but sources confirm the series will tie directly into the main timeline.
“The prequel gives us a chance to explore the moral decay that poisoned everything from the start,” said Grellong in a recent interview. “Fans will see familiar names and faces—just much younger.”
Release Date and Cast
No official release date has been set, but production is expected to begin in late 2025. The series will likely debut on Prime Video in 2026. Returning cast members from The Boys are rumored, though no confirmations have been made.
“Every role is being cast with care,” a production insider noted. “We want to honor the legacy while building something fresh.”

The Vought Cinematic Universe expanded rapidly after The Boys debuted in 2019. Its success spawned the college-set spinoff Gen V, with a second season already in post-production. The main series concluded its fifth season with shocking revelations that directly set up Vought Rising.
